Sportsindo – Marc Cucurella and Cole Palmer may stand opposite each other in the Euro 2024 final. Interestingly, these two players often help each other at club level with Chelsea.
The 2024 European Cup will play the final match on Monday 15 January 2024, kick-off at 02.00 WIB. The Berlin Olympiastadion will host the Spain vs England trophy match.
The match is believed to be fierce. Spain are slightly more favoured thanks to their consistent performance from match to match, but England have proven their resilience to fight until the end.
Interestingly, the final will also be a meeting of some familiar players, including Cucurella and Palmer.
Cucurella: Palmer is better off on the sidelines
At club level, Cucurella and Palmer often make neat combinations to build Chelsea’s attacks. In fact, Palmer was the Blues’ best player last 2023/2024 season.
Cucurella knows very well the quality and threat of Palmer on the pitch. Therefore, standing as an opponent, now he hopes Palmer will not start.
“I’ve spoken to him, but it was probably more than a week ago. We talked in the next round,” said Cucurella.
Same as a regular match
Looking at England’s matches so far, Cole Palmer is not Southgate’s mainstay for England’s starting XI. However, he has proven himself able to come on as a substitute and make a difference on the pitch.
“We will approach this game just like any other game. If we give our best performance, we have a great chance to win,” concluded Cucurella.
